The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
The following two writings are from the book Ariadne's Thread - A workbook of Goddess magic by Shekhinah Mountainwater. I highly recommend this book to any woman and man that wants to heal and understand the feminine within and that is searching to understand her/himself and her/his connection to the Earth. I've owned this book since I was 19 and it's a book that every time you re read it takes you deeper within yourself.
BLUE LADY
You stand alone inside the door
Your light is gone, your god denied
Cry, "Come to me, O Blue Lady,
Guide me to the other side . . ."
Don't fear the dark lady,
She'll bring you to yourself . . .
For yonder stands the cruel king
All circled 'round with burning flame
Sings: "There is no hope, there is no god,
No up or down; you have no name . . ."
Now cry the dark lady
She'll bring you back to yourself . . .
She comes to you, she takes your hand
She leads you to the temple green,
Do you know her now, as she knows you
And all your demons yet unseen?
Don't fear the dark lady
She'll bring you back to yourself . . .
For silver moons adorn her brow
And golden snakes adorn her feet
The veil she lifts - you reach her now
You meet her eyes, so wise & deep . . .
Don't fear the dark lady
She'll bring you to yourself . . .
MOTHER GODDESS
I am Mother Goddess
Source of life and love
Breathing vision into manifestation
Bearing children of body and soul
I am the blood of life
The pulsing throb of passion
I am the full moon glowing in the sky
And the beauty of all creation
I sustain all form
With the milk of my devotion
And dissolve all woes
With the power of my love
I am the starry sky
The rolling Earth
And the heaving sea
From me all doth proceed
And all shall come back to me. . .
